After many dependable years of tried, and proven service, The Hampton Township Volunteer Fire Department did not need to think long after looking at several different brands of self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) to determine the best replacement product for its own aging SCBA’s was to stick with MSA. With new NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) requirements looming and many innovations since the last time the departments SCBA’s were replaced and updated, Chief Dan Kuny researched several quality fire service air pack manufacturers for dependability, durability, and the availability of such things as heads-up display systems and amplified speech assistance on the face pieces. After the review of all products Chief Kuny recommended to all his firefighters to sit down with a representative from MSA and review there FireHawk M7XT Air Pack, 45 minute air cylinder and M7 Face Piece with heads-up display systems and amplified speech assistance. By the end of the night it was clear to everyone on hand that the SCBA that best full-filled all needs of the Department was MSA. And after a unanimous vote at the next department-monthly-meeting 16 new FireHawk Air Packs with enhanced face pieces were purchased and put into service to protect our volunteer members for many years to come.
