Engine 164-2 is a 2014 Custom Built Darley WASP 1500 gpm Class “A” CAFS Engine. This unit is built on a 2014 Ford F550 Super Duty 4 door – 4×4 chassis equipped with a 6.7 L Diesel engine rated at 300 horsepower. Sometimes these units are also referred to as “Quick Attack Pumpers”. This unit can transport up to 4 firefighters and primary carries a wide variety of different size hose. Four-inch diameter hose (LDH) that is used to supply water from a hydrant to the engine or from one engine to another. Two and a half inch hose line is used to attack a large fire in a large commercial structure. One and three-quarter inch hose line is used to attack a fire in most single-family buildings.
Engine 164-2 carries 750′ of 4″ LDH, 200′ of preconnected 2.5″ hose, and 500’ of preconnected 1.75″ hose plus 200’ of extra 1.75” hose. In addition to carrying hose, this unit carries the appropriate appliances, adapters and fittings to supply various hose layouts. This unit also carries self-contained breathing apparatus, spare air bottles, hand tools, gas powered saws and PPV fan, an automatic cardiac defibrillator, a 24’ Little Giant extension ladder, and both telescoping fixed and hand lights. This Engine is equipped with a 1500-gallon per minute pump equipped with a Foam Pro 2001 with 120 CFM rotary screw CAFS compressor, a 305 gallon water tank and 25 gallon class “A” foam tank
The primary function of the Engine Crew is the rescue of trapped occupants, securing of a water supply, applying water or extinguishing agents to the fire, and assisting in overhaul.
