Volunteer Firefighters Needed in Hampton

At one time, a firefighter's sole purpose was to fight fires, but these duties have changed over the years. Firefighters of today have many added responsibilities which includes responding to motor vehicle entrapment calls, hazardous material spills, automatic fire alarms, and physical rescues, while still fighting fires. Most people don’t realize it, but in Allegheny County, almost every fire department is solely made up of volunteers, and unfortunately, the number of volunteers continues to drop every year, leaving local fire departments short-staffed during different hours of the day. We are seeking motivated individuals that would like to help serve and protect our community as a Volunteer Firefighter or Fire Police Member here at Station 164. For those interested in volunteering, please visit our station on any Wednesday evening to meet our members first hand and see what we have to offer. You can make a difference, please volunteer today!
